Great Divide MTB Route

Adventure Cycling Association's Great Divide Mountain Bike Route

“The Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR) is Adventure Cycling’s premier off-pavement cycling route, crisscrossing the Continental Divide north to south. This route is defined by the word “remote.” Its remoteness equates with spectacular terrain and scenery. The entire route is basically dirt-road and mountain-pass riding every day. In total, it has over 200,000 feet of elevation gain. Roughly 80% of it is composed of county, Forest Service (USFS), and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) dirt and gravel roads. The remainder is made up of four-wheel-drive tracks and singletrack trails (10%), and paved roads (10%).” Adventure Cycling Association

“Chrachel” (Chris + Rachel) is taking another summer-long resume gap to ride across the United States, but this time it will be on the ACA GDMBR route (as described above)! See information and/or follow links below for content from our bikepacking trip down the spine of the United States throughout Summer 2018. We’ll be updating the site as often as possible, but won’t be posting daily updates as we did for our 2015 Cross-USA bike tour. So check back weekly for updates or subscribe (you can do so by entering your email address in the box located in the upper left side bar, from any screen within our blog) to have updates sent directly to your inbox.

Thanks for visiting, we hope you enjoy the ride!
