Our alarm buzzed at midnight after a surprisingly good off-hours sleep. We had breakfast and coffee while packing and watching The Late Late Show in the room and set off at 1:30AM. We were energized to ride and had some cool air (~70F), which made a world of difference.

Today, we hiked my favorite hike: Angel’s Landing. I hiked this trail with my family about ten years ago, and I couldn’t wait to do it again with Chris.

Almost to Zion (73)
Just before sunrise, it was 40F in Bryce Canyon City, so we bundled up and were on our way. Coincidentally, we met up with Lisa and Jenny near the campsite exit. To our delight, we rode the first 15 miles with them, until we deviated from the route once again, this time to go to Zion National Park.
Thor’s Hammer (72)
Yesterday, we had again been faced with the decision to take a day off to explore, or to continue onward in order to meet our goal and to save time to see other points further along our route.

Searching for Hoodoos (71)
After a late night, we snoozed until it was light out and then rode to Escalante for $0.69 day-old donuts and coffee. Before leaving we put together a plan for the next week. Today, we aimed for Bryce Canyon National Park.
