Our team met up at headquarters in Redwood Shores for a week.

The sea figs (carpobrotus chilensis) that you can see on the side of the road in that picture were everywhere. They are succulents, like cacti, so they don’t need very much water.

The yellow eye in the purple face said to the yellow eye in the blue face…

By Friday afternoon, only Yan, Raghu, and I had not flown home yet. We decided to go to Half Moon Bay for lunch, followed by a drive down route 1 towards Santa Cruz.

For lunch, we went to Chez Shea, where I got enchiladas, which I had been craving all week, and some fresh squeezed orange juice. We sat outside on the back patio.

The drive was really pretty, and we stopped at quite a few viewpoints along the way. At the first one, we had to hike down to get to the beach.

Someday, maybe I’ll actually see San Francisco itself. 🙂
