I’m not sure where the name came from, but these are soft molasses cookies. This recipe is one my mom makes frequently in the winter.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups Crisco
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 4 cups flour
- 4 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground cloves
Instructions:
- Cream the Crisco, sugar, eggs, and molasses together
- Mix in the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and ground cloves
- Roll into balls and dip in sugar.
- Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes on a greased pan, until the cookies fall and start to crinkle
