Thanks again to Tom, Leah and Hunter for your hospitality and generosity 🙂 After breakfast, we were sent off with sandwiches, peanut butter cookies, and even an aromatherapy roller for relaxing muscle spasms, which we are excited to try!
We found a great spot for lunch in Spencerport, beside the canal, and enjoyed some mead and hard cider, compliments of Macbeth Brewing Co. (i.e. Rachel’s cousin, Ryan) with our packed lunch.
The rest of the afternoon was spent riding liesurely along the Erie Canal pathway. Granny’s homemade bike saddle cover has been a good temporary solution to my bum problems (she cut off a piece of one of Rachel’s Grandpa’s old sheep skins).
We were surprised to have the path all to ourselves on such a beautiful day. It was difficult to resist jumping in; it was a hot one!
Just before dark we arrived at the Niagara county camping resort in Lockport. It was our cheapest campsite yet with a 50% discount for cyclists, so it was only $15 and had all the amenities!
