This past summer, Rachel and I took time off work for a trip to Big Sky country, with the highlight of the trip being 3 days in Glacier National Park. My siblings, Casey, Charity & Julie joined us, which was particularly exciting because Charity and Julie had never been to Montana. Also, Casey had never been there besides one trip in the winter and I had never been to Glacier before. We were excited for lots of first-time experiences!

Run MDI 2016
My siblings, Casey, Charity & Julie, were at it again this past weekend with another marathon! Rachel and I always try to go and support them on race day, and this time it was a no-brainer, because the race was on Mt. Desert Island (“MDI”). It would be our first time at MDI/Acadia National Park, so when we found out the race was on Sunday, we decided to drive up Friday night so that Saturday could be spent experiencing some of what MDI/Acadia have to offer. We arrived at our home for the weekend, Hadley’s Point Campground, at 8:30p on Friday and quickly set up camp then got to sleep, in preparation for an early start on Saturday. The temperature was forecasted to drop to the low 30s, so we deployed our warmest tent and an extra sleeping bag to use as a comforter.
Monitor Pass (90)
We climbed and we climbed and we climbed up high; we climbed as high as the clear blue sky.
We were nice and chilly at the campsite this morning. We had three climbs ahead of us. The last climb was too big, the middle climb was too small, and the first climb was just right.
Crossing High Sierra (89)
Lounging in Yosemite (88)
We woke early, left most of our gear behind, and biked to Camp 4 to get a spot for tonight, since the backpacker site is one night only. To our surprise, there was already a group of roughly 20 people waiting in line when we got there, around 5:30AM. We were very jealous, as most of them were sleeping in camping chairs or on sleeping pads on the ground.
