Miscellaneous Jack & Jill Cornhole June 18, 2014 Chris Leave a comment As part of Casey and Julie’s wedding gift, I made them a cornhole set to give it to them at their Jack & Jill party. Here’s how it went…. Cutting the duck cloth fabric to make the bags, the fabric was ordered from bigduckcanvas.com. I followed a Cornhole Bags DIY Walkthrough for making the bags, which also came from bigduckcanvas.com. After sewing all but a 2″ section of each bag, I filled each bag with the appropriate amount of corn feed pellets, and finished the last section of sewing Final stitching of blue bags, after being filled Using a jigsaw to cut the holes in both pieces of 1/2″ plywood. Plywood with holes cut out, installed on 2″x4″ framing around the perimeter, prior to first coat of primer. Later on I sanded the inside edges of the hole, used a router to cut a radius around the edges of the plywood and filled over the screw heads with wood filler. I built it per these dimensions, for a Regulation Cornhole Board. Boards edges after cutting radius in edges of plywood with router, filling over screw heads with wood filler, sanding and priming. Now they’re ready for artwork! I decided it would be fun to make the boards Jack & Jill themed, since they would be receiving them as a gift at their Jack & Jill party. Above is the first round of spray painting the “Jack” board in progress, using a home-made stencil. Second round of spray painting the “Jack” board completed. It is slightly messy because it is near impossible to keep the paint from running underneath the stencil, but with a little touch up later on it will look great! Completed Jack & Jill themed cornhole set. The Jack is self-explanatory, but the Jill is inspired by a slightly-crude joke. Without giving away the details of the joke, it can be explained by holding up your right hand with fingers outstretched like you see on the board. Your thumb and pointer finger make the “J”, your middle finger makes the “i” and then your ring finger and pinky make the two “l”s. ¡Voilà!
