Seeing the Rockies (55)

Izzy took the day off from work to entertain all of us.  In the morning, we bought coffee down the street and sat on the apartment rooftop sipping and taking in the view.

Later, Izzy considerately asked us how we felt about biking around town on B-Cycles (Denver’s bike share program). Even though it is a rest day, we conceded.  Thankfully the bikes have super cushy seats!

Our first stop was the Wynkoop Brewery for lunch and drinks.

Then the REI flagship store, where Chris purchased a pair of bike shorts. Then, Union Station for ice cream.  Finally, Izzy scored $4 tickets to the Rockies vs. the Braves. We sat in the Rockpile section and had our fill of hot dogs, corn dogs, and kettle corn.

A storm rolled in during the seventh inning, which delayed the post-game fireworks.  We had been looking forward to the fireworks but decided to leave early rather than weather the storm.

Back at Izzy’s apartment, we met his new (to us) girlfriend, Rachel. And even though we had stuffed ourselves at the ball game, Chris ordered pizza and desserts. The desserts were in honor of my birthday, since at that point it was midnight in EST!  🙂

The desserts tasted too good to stop eating and take a pretty picture :-O
