Dear Hubby,
While I missed you this weekend, I truly enjoyed my weekend with the chickadees down in beautiful Austin, Texas.
I couldn’t stop smiling for the first 24 hours of warmth. Temperatures in the 80s and dogs, bikes, and tacos everywhere; what more could a girl want?
It was the perfect mix of activity and relaxation, even with Tori’s broken ankle. There was a lot of pool sitting at her South Lamar Village apartment complex:
A lot of eating:
Some Barton Springs chilling:
A little bit of running by the Colorado River:
Ice cream (of course) from Amy’s Ice Creams:
Some Chicken Shit Bingo (yes, that’s a thing) at The Little Longhorn Saloon:
And some mountain biking with Derek! Sadly, I didn’t take any pictures of the biking, but it was AWESOME! He got me a really cushy Specialized Rockhopper in purple, with a dropper seatpost, full suspension, and some nice, wide tires!ย With that bike and plenty of encouragement from Derek puffing me up, I rode down some inclines that I think I typically would have walked ๐ .
The spot he took me is called The Greenbelt. The riding was pretty technical, so I was grateful for a bike that could roll over pretty much anything. We stopped for a jump in the river to cool off near the end of the ride, too.
I also loved getting some QT with Tori, watching some Love and Basketball and the new Beauty and the Beast, and seeing her take her first steps without crutches.
Me-oh-my-oh, Austin sure is beautiful!! I can’t wait for you to get to experience it in a few weeks!
Hearts and stars and rainbows,
Wifey
It looks like it was a really fun trip, I’m happy you all had a great time. Now I’m even more excited for my trip down there in a few weeks for Max’s bachelor party! ๐
